What are the differences between the XS versions?

Introduction

Infradox XS is currently available as a managed service in a number of versions.

For detailed information regarding version updates, please visit the Infradox XS updates forum.

Versions

An overview and brief explanation of the different versions.

  • XS Enterprise In short, XS Enterprise is unlimited - you can have as many files, file types, inbound and outbound API connections, users and administrators, subdomains, sub sites and 3rd parties uploading as you want. And you can automatically process syndicated data or send data for syndication to others.

  • XS Agency allows for a maximum of five administrators (including the super administrator), your database can be accessed by 3rd parties with the 3rd party API and it does support syndication - but it doesn't support asynchronous searching on multiple API's. And the number of files that you can store is also limited.

  • XS Photographer is intended for professional photographers. You can have content from a single supplier/photographer only and there can be only one administrator. The number of files is limited too. 3rd party API access and syndication are possible.

  • XSP Like all other versions of XS, XSP uses a dedicated database to store users, lightboxes, galleries, orders and so on - but the content metadata is stored in a central database. Because of this, it is slightly more limited in terms of automatic manipulation of meta data, but other than that it is the same as XS Photographer.

  • XS Satellite plugs into a XS Enterprise or XS Agency website to get its content (photos, videos et cetera). This version is intended for photo libraries that want to give their photographers a website of their own. XS Satellite does not have an order and/or high res file delivery function. If a user wants to buy a file he or she is taken to the agency website where the order can be handled by the people who represent the photographer. XS Satellite websites do have their own user database, galleries, a lightbox system and so on.

  • XS Photo Contest is a special version of Infradox XS that we developed in collaboration with Zilveren Camera to host photo contests. Including registration and immediate upload by participants, creation of contests with categories and judges. Includes tools for judging submissions and of course overall results.

If however, you want to completely hide files based on the end user's territory, then you need this optional module. Otherwise
